The Pantheon is a round temple topped with an enormous dome that was built in the reign of Hadrian. Cherished and protected for centuries even after the fall of the empire in the West, the Pantheon is one of the best preserved Roman temples that you can visit in Rome today. In antiquity, the building appeared very different: the forecourt has long since disappeared, as have the pedimental sculpture, statues and bronze fittings of the porch, and ancient sculpture inside the rotunda honoring the men and gods venerated here. The Rome Reborn® team has restored the complex and made it possible to take a virtual tour to learn about its appearance and uses in the year AD 320.
