The Imperial Palace
The word “palace” derives from a place name in Rome: the famous Palatine Hill, where, according to tradition, Romulus founded the city in the eighth century BC. Starting with Rome’s first emperor, Augustus, the hill was the residence of the imperial family. Over time, much of the hill was occupied by a vast palace. The Rome Reborn® team has made it possible for you to visit the palace and explore its most important public spaces.
